About the game

Morning, with yet another Monday ahead of you. All you have to do is get through it with a smile on your face. If you look closer, though... you might just start to appreciate the little things.

My role

I took a leading role in the art department, making sure the style stayed consistent and fast to render for all of my helpers.

I took pride in implementing the walking animation, environment art as well as the visuals for many little moments our monkey does when interacting with said environment.

Bellow you can check out a few snippets of the game's little things.

How it started

The theme for this two days game jam was "mask". We decided to go for a more symbolic approach and talk about the hurdles one faces and how even a doodle can bring joy.

Process

  • Style Design:

This time, we had more hands on the style part of the project.

Managing tasks wasn't challenging however, as I managed all communication and roles for each individual.

The bible was quickly created and easy to implement, fitting the vibe of the game better than we could have imagined!

Take away

A simple game with a few enjoyable base mechanics is a hit! As we focus on making that enjoyable, we optimize our time spent on every task at hand.

We placed 1st in the category "Best mood", which is exactly what I was aiming for with a game like this. I consider this a major success!
